Linde Werdelin
« on: May 01, 2010, 09:36:54 PM »
Had an impromtu TT session with Sshark on Orchard today. So with nothing else to do, we went to E'colleczionne in the newly opened Madarin Gallery with hopes of seeing the Bamford Rolexes in de flesh.

Too bad... the watches have yet to arrive and heard from the SE that the first batches were already pre-booked, so no units would be on display from the first batch. Btw if anyone's in town on the 13th of May, they would be having a small party to meet customers by the store owners.

But they do have the complete Linde Werdelin watches on display and had the opportunity to fondle the watches.

Sorry no photos as we forgot our cameras. hope you guys would not be bored with the write up.

Linde Werdelin THree-Timer

These are the 2 that we manage to get our hands on. Retails about SGD8800. With the standard ETA 2893. So no independent hour hand setting, thus setting the GMT hand would be a pain in de arse.

the white dial version looks kinda like a fleeting resemblence to the AP ROO Safari. it's no 18 out of a limited number of 222.

with that price you get a very beautiful case with great dial finishing. the straps are also quite interesting with a very unique and creative way of affixing to the case as you can see from the photos.

as said..the finish of the case is really good with brackets on the sides for attaching the dive computers or altimeters which is sold seperately.

is it worth the money? if you have change in your pocket.,, i must say. quite an interesting presence and would be a great conversation piece.

another that we had a close look at is the Spidolite series

the Spidolite Skeleton..price not listed. Grade 5 titanium case and a Svend Anderson modified movement.

you can get it's cheaper brother the Spidolite for SGD13800

Is it the strap is "tuck in" to e case thn tighten by e screw? E spider web type of dial is quite interesting. Quite some time didn't go to Orchard , it time to look look see see around. Maybe next time we can organize a MWF S'pore division GTG in Orchard. ;D

I like their spidolite version very much.
Very interesting case design.
But i would foresee it being hard to clean.

anyone interested to try out the watch can pay a deposit of 1k euro to have the watch sent to you for 5 days

check out the website

if "The One" is around +5kSGD after VAT, i would really consider.

The E'coloeczione and the neighbour B&R was on Men Folio magazine (April) , e designer of e Snyper is a former  sniper. Personally I ll prefer snyper rather thn spidolite bcos of e military feel but little bit set back by e list price at sgd 12,500...

it is an interesting brand but the lack of an in-house movement coupled with a high price is reminiscent of a cheaper version of hublot.
